E-Commerce Boost with SEO for Pioneer Retailer Belladonna

Beauty and the wonderful power of plants - Belladonna Naturkosmetik, Germany's first natural cosmetics speciality shop, has been focusing on both for almost 40 years. Belladonna can be translated as ‘beautiful woman’ in Italian and also be associated with the medicinal plant Atropa belladonna. When you enter the bright, bustling shop in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg today, you are enveloped by the scent of soap and essential oils that started it all at Belladonna.

Katharina Dilger and Andreas Walter have been successfully running the shop and the Europe-wide online shop for 25 years. As dynamic as the industry itself, Belladonna Naturkosmetik also offers young brands a breeding ground to grow and flourish. Trends are followed, new things are ventured. With products from brands such as Dr Hauschka, Esse and Santaverde, deep-acting cosmetic treatments are also offered on site.

What has been done

Improvement of information architecture and navigational structure of the online shop, understanding where content gaps are, improving search traffic with a content strategy, content calendar, link-building campaign and a well-researched keywords plan. We also implemented a promotion plan that created value instead of selling-off the brand Belladonna partnering with brands.

Results

The implementation of our digital marketing endeavors led to a significant boost of e-commerce sales. The Belladonna team enjoyed a 46% increase in online sales compared to the previous year.
